Photography by Rineke Dijkstra

Good portraits are fascinating since they can reveal their personality through their eyes, their stance, their clothes, and sometimes their settings. I'm a big people watcher so therefore I love Rineke Dijkstra's style of shooting. Her choice of portraits of children and teenagers are exceptionally well done, showing that modesty and teenager attitude in their way of standing and connecting with the lens.

I'm as much excited and scared of shooting portraits of strangers with the huge 4x5 at the State Fair. Let's pray that we load the film correctly and pray we don't shoot blanks.

About

Jane Tam has moved to a different domain. Please forward your links to http://janetam.com. Jane is a 21 year old Photography student placed in Syracuse University but originally from New York City. She enjoys all sorts of music but you can classify her as the stereotypical indie kid. Slightly offensive and bitter sometimes, this blog is a place to vent frustrations but also a blog to display current photo/art projects as well as encourage new talent from music to art to films; basically whatever tickles Jane's fancy.
